Final Fantasy XIV is full of sidequests. Most aren’t worth the time it takes to complete them, but every once in a while you find a gem–a bit of lore, a worthy reward, or even just a bit of story interesting enough to make the quest worthwhile. I am on my own quest: to complete every single golden sidequest in the game.

As I complete each map section, I will add the ones actually worth your time here, so that you can skip the haystack and get straight to the needles.
So how does this work?
Quests will be divided by expansion and location, which you can select from the navigation menu. Please be warned that some location names may be considered spoilers! Along with each quest, I will list if it’s valuable for the reward (and if so, what that reward is) and/or if the story itself is worth it. I will provide no further details in this case, so as to avoid spoilers. I will also list the quest giver/location, and any other important details.
There will be no blue quests on this list, as the game already sets those apart as special. This is only for the golden quests that most of us ignore. However, there are some blue quests which kick off a chain of golden quests. These chains can still make the list, in which case the prerequisite blue quest will be included in the important details.
I’m doing my very best to keep track of chains and prerequisite quests, but some chain in ways that are so disconnected that I don’t catch them all. If you can’t find a quest on my list, spot an error, or just have questions or comments, feel free to email me at sidequestsworthdoing@gmail.com.
